MTC’s Industrial Technology programs give students the specialized skills necessary to secure a great position in a technical career field of their choice. Associate degree programs are offered in Building Construction, Commercial Graphics; Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning/Refrigeration Technology; Automotive Servicing; and Machine Tool Technology. A number of the programs within Industrial Technologies have short-term certificate programs designed for students who wish to specialize in one area of employment. Each of these fields of study, where students “learn by doing, ” provides many exciting career opportunities for both men and women. The Industrial Technology department has more than 15 different programs in varied levels - associate degrees, diplomas, and certificates. Courses and pre-requisites change frequently. Therefore, students are encouraged to continuously discuss options with an Industrial Technology Department Advisor.

Programs offered by the MTC Industrial Technology Department
The Automotive Technology program at Midlands Technical College is designed to provide theory and hands-on training to prepare students to be well-rounded entry-level automotive technicians.
Building Construction Technology is designed specifically to train the next generation of homebuilders, superintendents, job site personnel, building inspectors and contractors for the construction industry of South Carolina.
Commercial graphics technicians provide critical support for the printing industry. This highly technical industry involves the production of forms, newspapers, packages, books, magazines, pamphlets and other print-related materials.
The Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning Technology program provides theory and practice in installing, maintaining and repairing residential and light commercial refrigeration, air conditioning, and heating equipment and systems.
The Machine Tool Technology program is designed to provide qualified individuals for manufacturing industries.
The Automotive Technology Program is Master Certified by NATEF, the National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation and is structured to provide students, both male and female, with up-to-date training that will develop their knowledge of automative theory and operational skills to the level required for entry into the field as automative technicians.
